The Khalid bin Hamad League Initiative for the Gold Generation was launched in 2023 under the "Golden Generation" initiative, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The initiative represents a strategic national project aimed at discovering and honing athletic talents within youth categories through organized leagues based on modern technical and competitive standards. It seeks to build a broad base of gifted athletes, preparing them for advancement to national teams to ensure sustainable sporting achievements and enhance regional and international competitiveness. Furthermore, the initiative reinforces educational values, discipline, and teamwork, solidifying the concept of long-term investment in Bahrain’s athletic human capital.
